Ben Simmons Weighs in on Donovan Mitchell's Pregame Rookie Definition Sweatshirt Troll

Sixers Head Coach Brett Brown: Ben Simmons 'Stone-Cold' Rookie Of The Year

If you look at the numbers, you'll see.

Earlier in the week, Simmons would say "people who know the game" know he's deserving of the award. Blake Griffin unanimously won the 2010-11 Rookie of the Year Award after sitting out a season because of injury, with no one really questioning his rookie status.

Then on Tuesday, Mitchell wore his rookie hoodie. Simmons averaged 16.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game heading into Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena. At the moment, they're engaged in a rather entertaining back-and-forth over just which player should be the NBA's rookie of the year. He's in line to average 15 points, eight assists, eight rebounds and one steal for the year, which would make him the first "rookie" to do that in National Basketball Association history. So, let's say you have an exam to take on June 1 and you have a whole year to study for that exam, you're going to get a pretty good grade on it, aren't you? His answer, might surprise you like it did me...

"That's all it is". If I'm worrying about individual awards, I'm giving up on my teammates and what we're trying to build here.

"Ricky threw a great pass and I made a great read", he added. From the looks of it, it appears to be a two-man race between Mitchell and Simmons.

But as long as these two guys keep throwing shade at each other like this, the Rookie of the Year race will always be fun to watch. The 76ers' rookie had a full year to watch and learn from the bench while he prepared to take over as Philadelphia's leader.

Trump negatively assessed the state of relations with Russian Federation
Russian Federation doesn't have the financial capability to retaliate to a military intervention in Syria by the US. This will be caused by an unannounced air strike on Syria using stealth bombers.

The two rookie candidates have formed a sort of rivalry in recent weeks with Simmons recently claiming he should "100 percent" be given the award and that nobody else comes close to him.

Simmons led the Philadelphia Sixers to their 15th win in a row, continuing to chase the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

Mitchell would go 8-for-12 from the field, nailing four of his five 3-point attempts in just 26 minutes. The Jazz lost their best player, Gordon Hayward, in free agency last year and were not expected to compete for the playoffs this year.

No matter what side of the debate you fall on, Simmons has been electric this season for the 76ers.

Perhaps they could kick off the global chapter in what will hopefully become a compelling rivalry.
