SnapChat is Releasing Special AR Lenses for iPhone X Users
According to developer's agreement, third-party app makers can only access to visual facial mapping data, not the mathematical representation of it that is used to unlock the iPhone X through Face ID.
The TrueDepth AR Lenses from Snapchat offers more detailed selfies with 3D objects and it will also follow your face movements in real time.
Unlike traditional Lenses that rely on information from a phone's 2D camera to recognize dominant facial features, like a user's eyebrows and mouth, iPhone X Lenses tap into data produced by TrueDepth.
At the launch of the iPhone X, Craig Federighi's demo using some new Snapchat Lenses blew everyone's minds.
SA guts Aussies in historic home series victory
They scored full 488 runs in the first innings and before the declaration, they lost all wickets. That contest was ironically South Africa's most-recent home Test series win over Australia .
Today Snapchat has finally released three exclusive AR Snapchat Lenses for iPhone X users. The first three lenses are the new Truedepth ones.
We will probably see such lenses tailor made for the iPhone X in the future and could probably make Snapchat more interesting for the select few that own the iPhone X.
Apple's most developed biometric security solution, TrueDepth and Face ID are anticipated to make their way into other product lines in the coming months, with the latest rumors advising iPad Pro is next in line to have an upgrade. You can make use of different masks which you can use within the lenses.
Sadly, it's impossible for Snapchat to add these high-quality filters to older iPhone models. Well now Snapchat has found a way to use this tech to make better lenses and they look rather good. The filters also react to the light around you and you see accurate light and shadow effects based on your ambient lighting conditions, something the standard lenses don't. Since, TrueDepth technology is limited to iPhone X only, the feature is exclusive for the owners of this smartphone. This isn't your average Snapchat filter, mind you. Apple also says it bans developers from creating profiles of otherwise anonymous users by using identifying facial capture information.
