Mueller Investigation Crossed President Trump's 'Red Line'

Trump Is Taking Out His Enemies And Turning Toward Robert Mueller

As President Trump renewed his attacks on special counsel Robert Mueller and former FBI officials, lawmakers warned Sunday that any move to dismiss Mueller would trigger a legal and political crisis over the Russian Federation investigation.

The contents of McCabe's memos are unknown, but they could help substantiate McCabe's assertion that he was unfairly maligned by a White House he says had declared "war" on the FBI and Mueller's investigation.

Trump said Mueller's team consists of "hardened Democrats" (whatever that means) and "Zero Republicans".

"Does anyone think this is fair? And yet, there is NO COLLUSION!" Republican and Democratic lawmakers warned the president to not even think about it. Department of Justice regulations do not consider partisan affiliation when assigning employees but do stipulate that DoJ personnel in sensitive posts are not allowed to participate in political campaigns or "engage in political activity".

In addition he reiterated long-running criticism of the Robert Mueller investigation, terming it a "witch hunt" due to revelations that certain members of the investigation team were heavily biased against President Trump, and saying that it "should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime".

The salvo was the latest in an intensifying confrontation over Mueller's probe into whether Trump's campaign colluded with Russian attempts to sway the 2016 election in his favor. The probe has produced a number of charges and convictions, none to date alleging criminal collusion.

"If he tried to do that, that would be the beginning of the end of his presidency, because we're a rule-of-law nation", said Sen.

"Well, I would hope that it would prompt all Democrats and Republicans in the House to pass an independent counsel law and reinstate Bob Mueller", he said. How many hundreds of thousands of dollars was given to wife's campaign by Crooked H friend, Terry [McAuliffe], who was also under investigation? But Comey defended his former deputy and sent a warning to the president.

"If you've done nothing wrong you should want the investigation to be as wholesome and thorough as possible", Gowdy said. Trump had said Mueller would cross a red line with such a step. "Our Republican colleagues, particularly the leadership, have an obligation to our country to stand up now and make it clear that firing Mueller is a red line for our democracy that can not be crossed". Trump said during a morning tweet storm.

Twice Ireland stopped England's lineout driving maul illegally and on the second occasion, Peter O'Mahony was yellow-carded. England boss Jones had warm words for Ireland "They're a good, tough team, well coached, very well disciplined".

'I don't like the way it happened, ' Rubio said Sunday on Meet the Press.

Trump cannot directly fire Mueller, who can only be dismissed for cause.

"They want him to be able to finish the investigation".

Andrew McCabe stepped down as the FBI's deputy director in January and had planned to officially retire on Sunday, but Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired him Friday night - a little more than 24 hours before the 20-year bureau veteran would have qualified for full retirement benefits.

For a microcosm of the current madness of American politics, look no further than the weekend meltdown after Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired former Federal Bureau of Investigation deputy director Andrew McCabe late Friday.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said the timing of McCabe's firing was "highly suspicious", noting that "common sense and fairness suggest" that Sessions should have waited until reports come out before making a final judgment.

Former FBI Director James Comey's book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership, climbed from No. 15 on Amazon's best sellers list Saturday to the No. 1 spot by Sunday afternoon.

'I am being singled out and treated this way because of the role I played, the actions I took, and the events I witnessed in the aftermath of the firing of James Comey, ' McCabe said. They also recount different conversations he had with Comey, who kept notes on meetings with Trump.
