Venus triumphs in Williams sisters battle

Venus Williams and Serena Williams talk as they play during a match

Venus Williams has broken sister Serena's first two service games in the second set as she wrapped up their fourth round match at the WTA event in Indian Wells 6-3 6-4.

Other women in the draw are world No.1 Simona Halep, reigning Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki; seven-time Grand Slam victor Venus Williams; 2017 U.S. Open finalist Madison Keys; two-time Grand Slam victor Garbiñe Muguruza and reigning US Open champion Sloane Stephens.

The 36-year-old professional tennis player - who has five-month-old daughter Alexis Olympia with her husband Alexis Ohanian - is reportedly planning to launch a range of beauty products under the name "Aneres", which is Serena spelled backwards.

Venus did her part to set up the marquee match when she dismantled world No. 35 Sorana Cirstea 6-3, 6-4 in just 79 minutes.

Venus's victory also comes 17 years after an ugly booing incident led to a 14-year boycott of the tournament by the sisters.

"I literally didn't even think about it", Serena replied, when asked whether she was happy the match would finally get to take place.

You have betrayed us, Miguna tells Odinga
President Kenyatta was sworn in for a second term last November. "We refuse to allow our diversity to kill our nation", he said. Elections were first held in August but the courts ordered a re-run, saying Mr Kenyatta's victory was marred by irregularities.

"It's a huge difference to play her in the semi-finals or even the quarter-finals or a final as opposed to the third round".

The fans' reaction in California came after Venus pulled out of her semifinal with Serena just before the tussle, citing a knee injury. "Maybe I'll write everything down and rank them so that I know what to work on first going into Miami". First of all, 17 years ago seems like forever ago.

Looks like Serena Williams is making sure she serves on and off the court. Venus enjoyed a resurgent 2017 season, but she began this year with losses to Angelique Kerber in Syndey and Belinda Bencic at the Australian Open. "Great way to come back".

"I still have a lot to give". I never lost a match sitting down.

Meanwhile, wildcard Danielle Collins beat Sofya Zhuk 6-4 6-4 and will face Carla Suarez Navarro, who beat number four seed Elina Svitolina 7-5 6-3.
