Nun in legal battle with Katy Perry dies after collapsing in court

The Nun Involved In 3 Year Legal Battle With Katy Perry Has Died Aged 89

Sister Catherine Rose Holzman of the Archidiocese of Los Angeles has died.

One of the two nuns who had been battling against Katy Perry in a court case regarding the sale of a convent has died whilst in court.

A jury late past year ordered Hollister to pay $15 million in damages for interfering with the sale of the property But Sister Holzman, in an interview outside Hollister's Brite Spot diner in Echo Park, defended Hollister a few hours before before she collapsed in court.

Now, as CBS reports, Sister Catherine Rose has passed away after collapsing in court while in the process of continuing to fight the legal battle.

During an interview in 2015, she explained: "After she spoke [about] her lifestyle, and what we have been teaching for years and our older sisters have been teaching, and what we believe in, [she] just did not fit". "She had nothing to do with forcing herself on us", Holzman said hours before collapsing. In April of 2016, Perry won a decision from a judge, allowing her to buy it.

Jobs report surprise: 313000 added in February
Large businesses (500 or more employees) gained 70,000 jobs, and small businesses (one to 49 employees) 66,000 jobs, it said . The Fed is considered certain to raise rates when it next meets in two weeks.

Dressed in their habits, Sister Callahan told reporters, "You have stolen the property of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart. Please archbishop. Do what is right in your heart", Callahan pleaded. The nuns claimed they, not the archdiocese, owned it and tried to sell instead to a local businesswoman to turn into a boutique hotel.

"The Archdiocese removed us to "monetize" our property", according to the sisters' website, which positions the dispute as a battle against both the patriarchy of the church and Perry, who, according to the website, "has no concern for the bad path of destruction she is creating".

A jury found last November that Hollister interfered with Perry's property deal and asked her to pay millions to the archdiocese and the pop star. "It's not doing anyone any good except hurting a lot of people".

She issued a direct plea to the singer, saying: "To Katy Perry, please stop".

The nuns had failed to get the consent of Archbishop Jose Gomez and the Vatican, which must approve the sale.
