Nothing before Big Bang: Stephen Hawking

Steven Hawking SHOCKINGLY reveals what the universe looked like BEFORE the BIG BANG

What happened before the Big Bang? In Hawking's own words, "it is not the kind of time we normally experience" and the four-dimensional "Euclidean space-time" it would create with the three dimensions of space would be nearly impossible for anyone to imagine. "There was nothing south of the South Pole so there was nothing around before the big bang", Hawking explained.

Speaking during a TV talk show "Star Talk", aired on Sunday on National Geographic Channel, Hawking propounded his theory on what happened before the universe came into existence. "Even the amount of matter in the universe can be different to what it was before the Big Bang, as the Law of Conservation of Matter, will break down at the Big Bang".

In essence, the curved surface that is space-time can be compared with the earth.

Hawking argued that before the Big Bang real ordinary time was replaced by imaginary time and was in a bent form, state run news agency Xinhua reported.

To visualise this, imagine a horizontal line with past running to the left and future to the right.

There was nothing around before the Big Bang, according to renowned British physicist Stephen Hawking. This means that the Universe, according to Hawking, has no boundaries.

Frankie Edgar issues statement on tough UFC 222 loss to Brian Ortega
Like the heavyweight clash, this one should be electric, even if there aren't meaningful divisional stakes on the line. That sent Edgar to the canvas, two punches followed, but it was already over as the ref called the end to the fight.

At the moment, we know how time and space works on Earth and in space to a certain degree, but those laws just simply either didn't exist before the bang or it existed in a way we're not familiar with yet. The ordinary real time as we know now shrinks infinitely as the universe becomes ever smaller but never reaches a definable starting point.

Mr Tyson asked: "What was around before the big bang?". He blamed the perspective of mankind for such assumptions.

Scientists still can't for sure determine what triggered The Big Bang and the beginning of the universe. Hawking further added that the events occurred after the Big Bang have not been clearly defined yet the reason behind this is there is not the proper method to detect those events.

Essentially, there was no conceivable "boundary" of time until the Big Bang.

The Tech Times wrote that much of what is known about the Big Bang comes from mathematical models and formulas since present instruments do not allow researchers to look back at the birth of the universe. Time is a "four-dimensional curved surface similar to the surface of the Earth, but with two dimensions". Therefore it is better to describe the Euclidean approach. "There was nothing around the Big explosion", he said.
