Ex-Netanyahu aide, businessman released and put under house arrest

Trump and Netanyahu were expected to discuss Iran's growing influence in Syria and the US nuclear deal brokered by former President Obama at Monday's meeting.

But any accord will be colored by recent actions taken by Trump to formally recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and begin moving the USA embassy there from Tel Aviv.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President Donald Trump on March 5, 2018. "We have, I would say, probably the best relationships right now with Israel that we ever had".

The president said the US will have the embassy "built very quickly".

Mired in corruption investigations threatening his political survival, Netanyahu - questioned at his home by police on Friday - stepped into a different spotlight during his five-day USA visit.

Hefetz, considered to be one of his most loyal associates, was described also as Netanyahu's "spin doctor". He has accused Iran of planning to build precision-guided missile factories in Lebanon, amid tensions along that border.

A police spokesperson said the deal with Nir Hefetz, a former media adviser for Netanyahu and his wife and the couple's close confidant, was signed on Sunday night.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, angered by Trump's Jerusalem move, has refused to engage with the United States on Middle East peace, prompting Trump to delay the rollout of peace proposals.

SA Reacts To Worst Listeriosis Outbreak Yet
Tests were done and it was found that they had listeriosis. "Hortgro believes it is a relief that the source has been found". The company operates across South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana, Uganda and Zambia.

Several of Trump campaign aides are facing charges or have pled guilty to lying to FBI investigators.

"This is a routine check-in meeting", one USA official said of Netanyahu's second visit to the Trump White House.

"Other leaders talked about it", said Netanyahu. This is years and years of opposition and frankly hatred and a lot of things", said Trump "I will tell you that if we could do peace between Israel and the Palestinians, that would be a great thing for the world.

Trump also spoke about when his administration's Middle East peace plan would be released, which has been under wraps for several months.

Netanyahu has denied wrongdoing in all the graft probes, often saying, "There will be nothing because there is nothing".

Further complicating the situation, Trump's point man, Jared Kushner, has lost his top secret security clearance.

He is due to speak at the pro-Israel lobbying group the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's (Aipac) annual conference on Tuesday, where he has previously been received as a hero. But in at least one big way, the uncertainty and strife at the White House intersected with Netanyahu's visit: a central U.S. interlocutor on Middle East peace, senior adviser Jared Kushner, has had his access to top-secret information yanked amid a crackdown on interim security clearances.

The Trump administration remains hopeful the Palestinians can be drawn back into negotiations after a "cooling-off" period, one United States official said, while conceding there had been no sign that would happen any time soon.
