Arizona Attorney Releases Statement Regarding DeAndre Ayton's Eligibility

Arizona head coach Sean Miller directs his team during the second half of an NCAA college basketball game against Washington State in Pullman Wash. Wednesday Jan. 31 2018

He is averaging 19.6 points and 10.9 rebounds per game and is being discussed as a potential first overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The Oregon Ducks kept pace with three-point shots from McIntosh, Troy Brown and MiKyle McIntosh. Miller is most likely gone from Arizona, but there is a huge difference in what he did, and what the other coaches and agents around the NCAA are doing.

ESPN reported that wiretaps of phone conversations reveal that Miller told Dawkins to deal directly with him when it came to money, not former Arizona assistant Emanuel "Book" Richardson.

Dawkins was accused of wire fraud in December, and was also suspected in Yahoo's report, alongside ASM Sports founder Andy Miller, for granting impermissible loans and payments to players from Alabama, Duke, Kentucky, and Michigan State.

Miller has been Arizona's head coach since the beginning of the 2009 season and has a 242-72 record with the Wildcats.

What remains to be seen is how the selection committee will judge a victory over the Wildcats sans Miller and Allonzo Trier, who was suspended after testing positive for a banned substance.

Missouri Freshman Michael Porter Jr. Has Been Cleared For All Basketball Activities
Porter was scheduled to visit his spinal surgeon in Dallas on Thursday for a follow-up on his November surgery. Thursday is the day Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin pointed out last week when discussing Porter's status.

Ayton's attorney issued a statement from the family Saturday stating they were "outraged and disgusted" by the report which detailed Arizona coach Sean Miller discussing payment for Ayton on an Federal Bureau of Investigation wire tap.

Pitino issued denials of wrongdoing before and after he was sacked at Louisville in October, and Miller has pleaded innocent.

Bilas also demanded Arizona put Miller on administrative leave and bench Ayton until the matter can be investigated fully. Miller has apparently informed his players that he will not be on the bench for Saturday's game against Oregon. For now, my thoughts are with our team. The only other school suspected to get Ayton was Kentucky.

Arizona was caught up in the first round of the corruption scandal in September.

Two of the more sublime impact players Saturday night were reserve wings Keith Smith and Abu Kigab.

"They were relentless", Phelps said of Oregon. His last field goal was a dunk with 10:51 to go in the second half, and his last points came from the line with 6:33 to go in the second half. It was a return to the head coaching spot he held at his previous stops including Washington for the last 15 years before arriving in Tucson to begin this season.
