McDonald's to bring back Szechuan sauce nationwide

McDonald’s Is Releasing A Podcast About The ‘Rick And Morty’ Sauce Riots

"McDonald's is making it right and fans will be able to get the sauce with qualifying purchase distributed across every restaurant in the United States, while supplies last", wrote the company in an official release. This time, they've got 20 million packets heading to every single McDonald's restaurant.

So now the Adult Swim series has not only brought back a dipping sauce from the dead, it's led to a podcast about said sauce. At the time, McDonald's released a statement saying that it had underestimated demand.

"We did not anticipate the overnight crowds, the cross-state travel and the awesome curiosity, passion and energy fans showed", the fast food company said on a website dedicated to the sauce and the riots.

McDonald's is desperately trying to avoid another Szechuan sauce fiasco. "Furious diehard fans formed outside restaurants chanting "we want sauce" and holding signs that read "#GiveUsTheSauce".

Gus Kenworthy happy NBC televised him kissing boyfriend
Another Twitter troll tried to come for one of Team USA's openly gay Olympians, but they didn't get the last laugh. Gus Kenworthy shared a massive bruise on his butt endured during last week's Winter Olympics in PyeongChang .

McDonald's capitalized on it with a stunt on October 7, but the sauce was only available for one day at a few locations. As you might recall, the sweet and sour condiment caused a stroke of trouble across the country back in October when locations didn't have enough supply to meet the demand. Those packages will be available with any purchase starting Monday, Feb. 26 and will be available until supplies last.

"Rick and Morty" fans rioted in October after the fast-food chain gave away Szechuan sauce across the USA - and demand far exceeded supply.

For the uninitiated, Szechuan Sauce was last widely available for a brief time in 1998 when it was a product tie-in for Disney's "Mulan". By the end of the episode, he seems to go insane as he tells Morty that he will one day get more of the precious Szechuan sauce.

McDonald's is even going to have some fun with the sauce's return, including hosting a three-part podcast series called "The Sauce" sharing stories from the previous release.
