Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Lucknow today to inaugurate the two-day Uttar Pradesh Investors' Summit, which is being attended by around 5,000 people, including industry leaders from India and overseas, chief ministers, union ministers, policy makers and academics.

The event aims at attracting investment in Uttar Pradesh and making it an ideal destination for investment.

Lauding chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Rajnath Singh said, "The state government must be congratulated for its zero tolerance to crime and criminals, which has brought significant improvement in the confidence level of the people about the improvement in law and order scene".

"Can Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh compete with each other to become the trillion dollar economy?"

Investors will see red carpet instead of red tapeism.

Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani also stressed that Uttar Pradesh is "not rising, but racing ahead in development".

"I will personally monitor all MoUs (memorandums of understanding) to ensure their proper roll-out and to make sure that no industrialist faces any problem in setting up his unit", the chief minister said.

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani too spoke at the summit. Ambani said Reliance would invest Rs 10,000 crore in the state over the next three years.

The size of state gives huge opportunities to investors to expand their business and invest in UP.
