Another ice warning for Cornwall

Little girl enjoying the snow

Temperatures are set to remain low over the weekend, with Sunday in particular remaining very cold.

A snow-ice warning has been put in place for the whole country, with snowfall of up to 3cm expected.

PARENTS hoping to make the most of the half term break will be left disappointed as heavy rain and snow gear up to batter Britain for almost all of next week. Frost and icy patches will develop once again soon after dark with lowest temperatures of minus 1 to plus 2 degrees. Feeling bitterly cold with strong westerly winds.

"For a time most of this going through Saturday night into the start of Sunday leaves behind a legacy of icy patches, so you will have to look out for those first thing Sunday".

"Longer journey times by road, bus and train services are likely while some vehicles could become stranded".

Today will be a great deal milder than tomorrow, with highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees.

The Hornets are not safe either but their last result should be the lift they need to climb away from any danger. Sullivan also gave his backing to manager David Moyes , believing he is the right man to take the club forward.

"This rain will be persistent and heavy at times, turning to snow on high ground". Isolated showers will continue into the afternoon.

Temperatures tomorrow and Monday are below average, but will pick up on Tuesday and Wednesday as a frontal system comes in from the Atlantic.

Looking ahead, we're set for another cold, unsettled week.

It will continue to get warmer heading today, which will see gales of up to 40 miles per hour across northern regions. Highest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

Increasing cloud and rain is forecast throughout the north-west, with snow expected to fall on the hills north of the Scottish border.
