Roma move on after failing to agree fee for Man Utd defender

Roma are interested in signing the Dutchman, who is in the final year of his contract

Daley Blind is interested in leaving Manchester United for Roma, although a deadline-day switch to Serie A looks unlikely as Jose Mourinho is unwilling to lose the versatile Dutchman.

Luke Shaw has recently returned from injury for United, while Ashley Young has been preferred to Blind at left-back and the Dutchman has fallen right down the pecking order. The Italian club want Blind to fill the void initially on loan, with an option to buy in the summer.

Blind is now nursing an ankle injury, but the Daily Mail describes Roma as being "keen" to complete a deal before the January transfer window closes. "The price is good, but the negotiations are hard".

Eyed up as a potential replacement for Emerson, last season Daley Blind impressed at United for his reliability as a utility player.

"The choice of Italy would be very interesting for him but Manchester United is a great club that does not need to sell players and does not need money".

Netanyahu To Meet Putin To Discuss Russia-Israel Relations
As a gift, the Russian president handed him an original letter that Oskar Schindler sent to his wife, Netanyahu said. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow.

"It's really hard because Manchester United want to keep him to play in the Champions League, the Premier League and the FA Cup". Maybe if we had a few days, a week perhaps, but we've only got a few hours.

According to the Daily Mirror, they are looking to recoup the £13m that they paid for the defender back in 2014, while the player is thought to be keen on the move.

He failed to start a single Eredivisie match during his spell in the Netherlands and sees his season-long loan cut short on the final day of trading in the January window.

Blind has made 15 appearances this season but Jose Mourinho wants no further changes to his squad.
