Bon-Ton closing two Lehigh Valley stores

Laura Ashley brings new bedding paint coordinates to Bon-Ton

"We remain focused on executing our key initiatives to drive improved performance in an effort to strengthen our capital structure to support the business going forward", Tracy said.

The company plans to close seven stores in IL and five in Indiana. The plan does not identify the stores likely to close.

Bon-Ton is one of the large anchors at the mall, at 80,000 square feet. Bon-Ton Spokeswoman Christine Hojnacki did not return phone calls or emails.

Bon-Ton has 260 stores in the US, including furniture galleries and clearance centers, in addition to department stores.

In New York state, it is also closing stores at Salmon Run Mall in Watertown and St. Lawrence Center in Massena.

Workers at stores listed for closing will be offered jobs at other locations. "The news is disappointing and surprising, as the impending closure will take place seven years before the scheduled end of the Carson's lease commitment at Village Mall".

Finns vote in presidential election
The election results reflect the broad support of the citizens of Finland for the course pursued by Niinisto, Putin said Monday. The former finance minister and parliament speaker has been a highly popular president since he took office in 2012.

The company says closing the stores is all in part of their store rationalization program.

The Fox River Mall store location first opened as H.C.Prange's in 1986.

John Mulherin, vice president for government relations for Hull Property Group which owns Regency, explained that this Boston Store owns - not leases - its space at the mall. "I guess now I'll have to go to Champaign".

Mary Anne Smith says this location is convenient for her and believes too many big name stores are closing.

"I feel sad for the employees at the store and its loyal customers who have feared this for some time", she said.
