Apple is reportedly slashing iPhone X production in half

If Apple does in fact launch a second-generation iPhone SE, Kuo doesn't think it will have too many outward changes compared to the current model.

The two LCD devices will likely sport a 5.7 to 5.8-inch and a 6.0 to 6.1-inch display, respectively.

Apple is believed to have started considering an increase to proportion of liquid crystal display iPhone models by reducing production of the OLED screen models scheduled for release this year. The report cites the phone's $1,000 price tag for why it has failed to catch on. The South Korean giant is now the only company that can guarantee a steady supply of the screens. Now this week, it is being reported that Apple is already reducing its production targets for the iPhone X, indicating that perhaps the phone isn't selling as much as originally hoped. The combined impact on suppliers that make the components for the iPhone X will run supposedly reach into the billions of dollars. It is expected to be powered by 2850-2950mAh battery. It can be recalled that the initially released iPhone X is armed with a single-cell, L-shaped design. With battery enhancement, this could yield up to 10 percent additional capacity. The iPhone X may have been the best-selling smartphone of the Christmas quarter, but sales momentum was apparently lost after that. The most-affordable version of the flagship starts at $999 in USA, while in other markets it is considerably more expensive even when accounting for the difference in taxes.

Jaitley to table Economic Survey, triple talaq bill in focus
Sources said the Triple Talaq Bill, which virtually stalled the Rajya Sabha in the last session, was not discussed at the meeting. This is unedited, unformatted feed from the Press Trust of India wire.

"After the first wave of demand has been fulfilled, the market now worries that the high price of the iPhone X may weaken demand in the first quarter", Zhang wrote. This could also slow the shift by display manufacturers from LCD to OLED technology.

The iPhone X Plus has been roaming around the rumor mills for quite some time now. Some even expect the company to have outperformed forecasts.
