Nadal out of Aussie Open

Australian Open: Nadal bows out as Edmund shocks Dimitrov

And the Croatian believes he is able to match Federer shot for shot if he has to take him on in another Grand Slam final.

The Swiss maestro, who beat Nadal in last year's final at Australian Open, also commented on his rival's new look for this year's Australian Open - a sleeveless shirt similar to the one Nadal used to wear in his teenage years.

The match was nearly four hours old and well into the fifth set, which Croatian Marin Cilic was in the lead 3-6 6-3 7-6 (5) 6-2 2-0, when Rafael Nadal was forced to retire due to a hip injury.

"This type of injury is hard to know immediately", a visibly beaten Nadal said. Today was just a little bit different to the match with Rafa (Nadal).

The match was evenly poised after four games with both players locked in at 2-2 but Cilic broke Edmund's serve which proved the start of the dominance he asserted over the British No.2 for the remainder of the match.

The South Africa-born youngster can count Cilic, who will face titleholder Roger Federer or South Korean prodigy Hyeon Chung in Sunday night's championship decider, among his many admirers.

Marin Cilic has made it through to his third Grand Slam final after beating Britain's Kyle Edmund in the semi-final at the Australian Open on Thursday.

German Nurse Convicted of Murder Charged in 97 Additional Deaths
The charges were expected after officials said in November that Hoegel may have killed more than 100 patients over several years. Koziolek believed Hoegel "in all cases at least accepted the death of the patients as a result of the effect of the drugs".

This is the first time the Yorkshireman has won five consecutive matches at tour level. "Not for now that we are playing, but there is life after tennis", Nadal said.

Cilic had only once lost from a 2 sets to 0 lead.

"He gets good power and he is a tall guy, but it's not like I haven't played good servers, it's about picking moments and reading the ball toss".

Earlier, British tennis player Kyle Edmund knocked out Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals.

Should Federer win the Australian Open it would be the first time winning back-to-back titles in Melbourne since 2007.

"I'm feeling really, really good physically, even though I had a few matches that went more than three hours", the 29-year-old said.

"I know what it feels like to be Andy Murray for the last eight years or however long", Edmund said of the expected media attention after his win.
