WhatsApp for Business app is now live in select regions

WhatsApp launches standalone Android app for businesses

The app is available starting today and is free to download in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the U.S. and will be rolled out around the world in the coming weeks.

For everyone else, WhatsApp noted in a blog post that the app will roll out around the world "in the coming weeks".

For now, the app is aimed at small businesses, with WhatsApp claiming that 80 percent of small firms in the launch regions already use WhatsApp to communicate with customers.

WhatsApp will also distinguish "business" accounts from personal accounts on the default app.

Obviously because WhatsApp messenger has proven to be a very useful tool for most, we don't expect anything less from the new WhatsApp Business.

"With the app, businesses can interact with customers easily by using tools to automate, sort, and quickly respond to messages". WhatsApp will also verify these accounts by matching their phone number with the registered business contact number.

Japanese public TV says staffer sent missile alert in error
Ige said that he had requested the ability to test the mobile alert system, but the effort had been "blocked nationwide". That's a good thing, given that the former manual process required a full 38 minutes for a correction to be released.

WhatsApp business is totally a separate app that needs to be downloaded in addition to the normal messaging app. This new WhatsApp version is geared towards small enterprises and helping them connect with their customers.

WhatsApp has not shared that how many businesses are today active on its app. Sad news that only Android user can take advantage of this app as its available only on Google's Play Store.

You can download the app from the link below. There's also "greeting messages", to quickly introduce customers to the user's business, and "away messages" to quickly inform customers that they're busy.

The business version of WhatsApp can prove quite beneficial for small businesses around the globe.

Average users will be able to block any number, including businesses, as well as report them as spam. It will be meant for global businesses with thousands of customers such as airlines, hotels and e-commerce platforms among others. "And WhatsApp Business will make it easier for people to connect with them, and vice versa, in a fast and simple way". For now, the WhatsApp Business App is available for free.
