Remembering Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan and her fierce, fragile voice

"She was 46 years old", a statement from her publicist said. The singer's agent, Lindsey Holmes Publicity, had explained that when he died, "I was in London for a short recording session" but did not specify subject he was going to record.

Ms O'Riordan, a native of Ballybricken, shot to global fame in her early 20s during the 1990s as lead singer of The Cranberries. "It sounded full of life, I was joking and I was happy to see me and my wife this week", he added.

Her remains are at the coroner's office in Westminster, and sources have said that her autopsy will take place "over the coming days".

The Limerick singing sensation was found dead in her hotel bathroom by a maid on Monday morning.

Police have confirmed that O'Riordan's death is not being treated as suspicious.

Existing members Mike and Noel Hogan and Fergal Lawler snapped her up and together they became The Cranberries, increasingly becoming known for O'Riordan's distinctive wailing voice.

Ms O'Riordan went public some years ago about her fight with depression which she said was especially hard for her after her father Terence died in 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Her family is handsome. I'm absolutely gutted and I only knew her music.

She was part of the creative production for all five hit albums, and wrote nearly all of the band's biggest hits like "Zombie", "Linger", "Animal Instinct", and "Dreams".
