West Ham considering Coquelin & Elneny

Francis Coquelin of Arsenal is chased by Pedro Obiang of West Ham United during the Carabao Cup Quarter Final match between Arsenal and West Ham United at Emirates Stadium on December 19

Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin reportedly agrees a £10.5m move to Valencia. Coquelin was absent from the squad in the defeat to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup 3rd round tie on Sunday.

The 26-year-old prepares to move to Spain after rejecting interest from Premier League clubs West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

According to French radio station RMC, Coquelin has now signed off on a contract offer from Valencia and is happy to move. The addition of Coquelin, a talented defensive midfielder, therefore, would definitely help shore up their back line.

Nevertheless, he is a regular for the Egyptian national team, having won 57 caps since his debut in 2011, and Moyes clearly sees him as the sort of player who could help the Hammers in their fight to avoid relegation.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport: Packers hire Brian Gutekunst as new GM
He was promoted to director of of college scouting in 2012 and director of player personnel in March of 2016. Thompson had been the team's GM since 2005 and will assume a role of senior advisor to football operations.

The 26-year-old is a target for West Ham too but David Moyes fears the former U21 global prefers a move to over staying in. Coquelin also fits Moyes' requirement for a defensive midfielder with ample Premier League experience.

The former Arsenal striker's eyebrows almost hit the ceiling as he puffed out his cheeks in scenes reminiscent of his astonished reaction to Brendan Rodgers' sacking several years ago.

When quizzed about Coquelin's future on Tuesday, manager Arsene Wenger said: "It's a possibility [Coquelin's departure] but nothing is decided".
