Mother, boyfriend sought in torture, murder of girl, 4

URGENT: Manhunt underway for couple after 4-year-old girl found dead with 'severe burns'

Police are searching for a woman and her boyfriend in connection with the death of a 4-year-old MI girl who was found with severe burns, WDIV reported.

Candice Renea Diaz, 24, the child's mother, as well as Diaz's boyfriend, 28-year-old Brad Edward Fields, are charged in an arrest warrant approved by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office with murder, child abuse and torture, reports CBS Detroit.

On the morning of New Year's Day, police responded to a report of an unresponsive girl at a home in the Rawsonville Woods Mobile Home Community in Sumpter Township, Mich., about 30 miles southwest of Detroit.

Family members were administering CPR when officers arrived, police said.

The child was transported to an Ann Arbor hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A medical examiner ruled the child's death a homicide with evidence of multiple traumatic injuries and battered-child syndrome, meaning she suffered multiple injuries, at multiple sites, at multiple ages.

Falcons Hang On Against the Rams for a Tough Playoff Win
The Falcons know they can outscore anyone despite seeing more than a 10-point drop-off in their scoring average from a year ago. Goff finished 24 of 45 for 259 yards and a touchdown but it was not enough to beat a Falcons defense loaded up to stop the run.

Diaz, 24, and Fields, 28, are suspected in the death of her 4-year-old daughter Gabby Barrett.

Police say Fields ran away from the home.

Both Diaz and Fields are being charged with murder.

According to neighbors, Child Protective Services had been to the home several times over the years, but the children were never taken from the home. Fields fled the scene, but was later picked up on domestic violence charges.

"We didn't know. We would have gone" and removed her from the home, he said. The second page makes clear that donations will be used by Gabby's father, Kyle Barrett, to lay his daughter to rest. She was loveable. She was sweet. "It's nice to get some closure with this".
