John Dickerson replacing Charlie Rose at 'CBS This Morning'

John Dickerson Face the Nation

John Dickerson, anchor of the CBS Sunday news program "Face the Nation", is set to replace Charlie Rose on "CBS This Morning", three sources familiar with the decision tell HuffPost.

Dickerson, who's moderated the CBS show "Face The Nation" since 2015, will fill the anchor seat vacated by veteran newsman Charlie Rose.

Dickerson joined CBS News in April 2009 as an analyst and contributor to all of the network's broadcasts and platforms.

Dickerson begins anchoring tomorrow, January 10, 2018, and will be based in NY. "Gayle and Norah continue to show tremendous leadership on our morning broadcast each day".

What Federal Changes Mean for Ohio's Medical Marijuana Program
Legalization has given a shot in the arm to the industry, attracting investors looking to cash in on the green-rush scramble. He later became a career state and federal prosecutor who has spoken favorably of a previous federal marijuana crackdown.

CBS journalist John Dickerson met comedian Stephen Colbert on the floor of the 2016 Republican National Convention for CBS's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in Cleveland, Ohio. Dickerson has been a reporter in Washington since 1995, covering the White House, Congress and economics. A 2010 long-form series on risk profiled current Secretary of Defense James Mattis. During his last four years, he was the magazine's White House correspondent, covering the presidency of George W. Bush.

Dickerson, now host of the long-running Sunday public affairs show "Face the Nation", will "transition off" that program in the coming weeks, then a successor will be named, according to CBS. But with "CBS This Morning", the network is in a better competitive position against "Today" and "GMA" than ever before.

Tuesday happens to be the six-year anniversary of "CBS This Morning".

His appointment comes after NBC named Hoda Kotb to replace its own shamed morning star, Matt Lauer, on "Today", now the most watched morning cable news show in the United States. CBS News has not announced a replacement for Chaggaris. Use the hashtag #JohnJoinsThisMorning.
