Obama beats Trump in America's Most Admired Man poll

Donald Trump

A new poll by Gallup showed a gap closing between top contenders of "most admired" people by American adults.

Its not surprising that among Americans former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the most admired woman in the world and former President Barack Obama is the most admired man in the world. Clinton narrowly topped Michelle Obama 9 to 7 percent.

Barack Obama has been named as the "most admired man" by Americans for the 10th year running, nearly a year after leaving the White House. He was followed by President Trump at 14%, the only finisher even close to Obama's 17%.

Barack Obama claimed the honor for the 10th year in a row while Clinton retained her title for the 16th year in a row.

However, the website said Pres. Donald Trump's "unpopularity is holding him back from winning the most admired distinction". The incumbent president is usually the victor, "since he is arguably the most prominent figure in the country", Gallop stated in its news release.

Tax Prepayment Information for Property Owners
As of Friday, 350 people had showed up to the office of McHenry County Treasurer Glenda Miller to pay their property taxes early. It appears the tax bill writers made a technical mistake, and it's unclear whether they will correct it.

"She has held the title 22 times in total, more than anyone else".

Eleanor Roosevelt is a distant second, getting 13 most honorable mentions in the poll. Other men on the list include Pope Francis, John McCain, Elon Musk, Bernie Sanders, Bill Gates, Mike Pence, and The Dalai Lama. To no surprise, there was a wide partisan split, with 35 percent of Republicans saying Trump was most admired man of the year, and 39 percent of Democrats picking Obama. It is her 30th time making the top ten list.

Gallup said its poll was conducted from December 4 to December 11 with a random sample of 1,049 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 USA states and the District of Columbia.

Nine percent of participants said they most admired Clinton, which was a decline from her 12% rating previous year.
