Reporter Questions Bill Belichick About Tom Brady's Shady Trainer

Reportedly there's been a rift brewing between Guerrero and head coach Bill Belichick and now the team has chose to address, according to Bob Hohler of The Boston Globe.

On Tuesday, the Boston Globe published a report claiming that Patriots coach Bill Belichick has taken steps to limit Guerrero's presence around the team, including banning him from team's private charter and sideline on game days.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is playing as well as ever at age 40, and he credits his friend/business partner/personal trainer Alex Guerrero for much of his longevity.

In the years after, Belichick allowed many of Brady's teammates to participate in training regimens not with the Patriots' highly regarded medical and training staff, but at the TB12 Center just outside of the stadium in Patriot Place.

Robert Kraft, the Pats' chairman and CEO, told the New York Times Magazine in 2015 that Guerrero's role with the team "doesn't come without its challenges". State regulators in MA also intervened, believing he was practicing physical therapy without a license.

The trainer, Alex Guerrero, is a close friend of Brady's as well as a business partner who helped launch the TB12 Center, where Brady and several other Patriots players have trained and received treatment since its start in 2013.

State regulators also stepped in when Guerrero treated Patriots players and other people at the TB12 Center, looking into allegations that he was practicing physical therapy without a license. However, Brady sidestepped the question when asked about Guerrero's absence during their Pittsburgh road trip [VIDEO].

Guerrero has been cited in the past by federal regulators for his alternative medical treatments.

Bob Hohler reported for the Globe that several weeks ago, "stripped Guerrero of his special team privileges", which included traveling on the team's chartered flights and sideline access during games.

The Globe reported that the ban has created "some friction" between Brady and Belichick, but neither has commented on the situation.

There's been a longtime joke about how Belichick is so committed to winning, he'd even be willing to trade Brady at the end of his career if he felt it made the team better in the long run.

There's no telling what was the tipping point for Belichick, especially after previously saying he couldn't get rid of him because Brady liked him.
