Dogs Maul Their Owner to Death

Woman found dead in woods mauled by dogs

Bethany Lynn Stephens was found dead in a grisly scene on Thursday, two days after she was last seen heading out to walk her dogs. "There were various articles of clothing, underclothing scattered about the area not far from the body and torn into small pieces, there were patches of blood", Goochland Sheriff James Agnew told local Fox affiliate. "Dogs don't typically just out of the blue attack their owners, so there is typically some kind of provocation", she said, as per news outlets, inferring that provocation causes fear, which may have led to aggression.

Many people following this story online said they find it hard to believe her dogs would commit such a tragedy.

Meanwhile, one of Ms Stephens' best friends said she did not believe the animals would have hurt her, as she had raised them since they were puppies. "Those dogs would not attack her", Barbara Norris told NBC 12.

A YOUNG woman has suffered a horrific death after being mauled by her own dogs in the United States. Were they being attacked by somebody, were they trying to defend themselves and their owner from somebody else, from a wild animal?

The Mirror reports that the two animals are now in the care of Goochland Animal Control and will likely be put down.

Samsung's Notebook 9 Series Gets Spec Bump Ahead of CES 2018
Samsung has announced the Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) as well as the Notebook 9 Pen , which is akin to the S-Pen stylus. All in all, the specs are great... save for the Full HD display resolution of the entire upgraded Notebook 9 family.

"It was an absolutely grisly mauling", Agnew said.

During the conference, Agnew described the dogs as "very large brindle-coloured pitbull dogs". "In my almost 40 years in law enforcement, I've never seen anything quite like it", he said.

"That's not something I would normally see", said Valerie Paul, the master dog trainer from Richmond, adding that it's hard to determine what exactly happened without knowing Stephens' dogs. "You have specific sub-populations that have been used over time in the illegal pursuit of dogfighting, but they really can't be held up as the standard for all pit bulls in America". Stephens was 5-feet-1 and 125 pounds, weighing roughly the same amount as her dogs.

Asked about Norris' comments Saturday, Agnew said the evidence found at the scene, including the defensive wounds, clearly showed that the dogs were responsible for Stephens' death.

The dogs were captured, and authorities will pursue euthanization.
