Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield wins 2017 Heisman Trophy

Chill Lamar Jackson returns to NYC as relaxed Heisman finalist

The Buckeyes should have made the College Football Playoff.

Mayfield won in convincing fashion over Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, last year's victor, and Stanford running back Bryce Love.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield accepted the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night with a gracious and emotional speech at the PlayStation Theater in New York City. He is the first senior to win the award since Troy Smith of Ohio State in 2006.

During his 2016 Heisman season in which Louisville went 9-4, Jackson passed for 3,543 yards and 30 touchdowns while rushing for 1,571 yards and 21 touchdowns.

The Oklahoma quarterback topped off a week for the ages in which he also won both the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award as college football's most outstanding player in 2017, the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback of the Year Award and the Associated Press Player of the Year Award. He has also rushed for 310 yards and another five scores with no fumbles lost.

Trump records robocall for Roy Moore
Moore is accused of sexual misconduct with teenage girls decades ago, when he was a county prosecutor in his 30s. Church. "The other side is trying to divide us more than they bring people together".

The quarterback was arrested in February and pleaded guilty to three misdemeanors, including public intoxication.

"Coach [Lincoln] Riley you have been a mentor to me", he said.

Mayfield and the Sooners face Georgia in the Rose Bowl on January 1 in a CFP semifinal, with the victor to face Alabama or Clemson in the championship game on January 8.

In other years, that may have been reason enough to not vote for Mayfield if the other candidates were even in the same stratosphere as him, but they're not, and that's why he may set a record for margin of victory when the Heisman is announced.
