Denver Broncos fire offensive coordinator, former Ute Mike McCoy

Mike McCoy

Accoridng to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Broncos chose to fire offensive coordinator Mike McCoy following Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Broncos averaged just 18.3 points per game through the first ten games of the season, the ninth-worst total in the NFL.

He was sacked after last season and returned to Denver under new coach Vance Joseph.

It seems likely the move to Musgrave could also coincide with another quarterback change - 2016 first-rounder Paxton Lynch was active and in a No. 2 role for the first time Sunday. As a former Broncos offensive coordinator with success, he was expected to help fix what was once a prolific unit.

Elway last week called his team "soft", criticism that didn't sit well with some of his veteran players.

Trump hits Clinton as 'biggest loser;' Clinton questions legitimacy of election
It's a form of propaganda. "Certainly, the Trump administration has no interest in finding out the truth". During the campaign, Clinton attacked Trump over whether he would accept the results of the election.

For the time being, the Broncos have promoted their quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave to offensive coordinator, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Whether this decision was made exclusively by Joseph or he's following Elway's orders remains to be seen - though the latter possibility shouldn't be discounted. "I want to thank Vance for the opportunity he gave me and the entire organization, from Mr. B [Broncos owner Pat Bowlen] all the way on down".

No one is arguing the fact that McCoy wasn't the right fit for the Broncos.

McCoy joined Joseph's staff in January for a second stint as Denver's offensive coordinator after he was sacked following a middling four-year run as the Chargers head coach.
