Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon's Morning Show Drama Is Headed to Apple

Apple Gives Reese Witherspoon-Jennifer Aniston Morning Show Series 2-Season Order, Confirms 'Amazing Stories

Witherspoon played "Jill Green, ' sister to Aniston's 'Rachel Green" on two episodes of Friends.

The show doesn't have a name or a proposed air date (though spring of 2019 is a decent bet).

Apple streaming services announced on Wednesday the two actresses will co-star and produce a new untitled scripted series that goes behind-the scenes of a television morning show.

This announcement of the still untitled series comes just months after Witherspoon-produced "Big Little Lies" picked up eight Emmy Awards for HBO.

The company has made a handful of shows already, the most high-profile of which is probably a series version of "Carpool Karaoke", the popular bit from "The Late Late Show with James Corden".

According to THR, producer Michael Ellenberg (The Leftovers) came up with the original concept back in July, and Jay Carson (House of Cards) has signed on as producer, writer, and showrunner.

There will also be free DLC as well, with a day one patch adding dual audio options for Japanese voiceovers and English subtitles. Firstly, bonus support items will follow the game's release in December this year, before a new quest arrives in January 2018 .

The Witherspoon-Aniston show and "Amazing Stories", however, is the kind of flag-planting Netflix did when it announced "House of Cards" in 2011.

The new show will reunite the two actresses.

The show, T.H.R. reports, will provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse at how America's morning show stars really live and work-with some background inspiration from Brian Stelter's book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV. Aniston and Witherspoon will produce via their respective production companies, Echo Films and Hello Sunshine.

Since leaving his position as head of drama at HBO, Ellenberg has focused on development and has teamed with Bron Studios to launch Media Res.

"Amazing Stories" is seen as more of a family-friendly show, which has led to some speculation that Apple isn't interested in the dark dramas that populate much of television.
