Nokia 5 3GB RAM variant goes on sale in India at Rs. 13499

Nokia has announced a new variant of its mid-range smartphone Nokia 5. To remedy the same, Nokia seems to have quietly launched the 3GB RAM variant of the Nokia 5. The Nokia 5 with 3GB of RAM will go on sale on Flipkart from November 7 at midnight.

Other than RAM, rest of the specifications are similar to the original Nokia 5. After the first sale, Nokia 5 will also be made available in select retails stores. HMD has priced the device at Rs 13,499.

Which under Rs 15,000 smartphone should you buy - Nokia 5 (3GB RAM), Nokia 6 or Xiaomi Redmi Note 4? Sadly, both the 2GB RAM and the newly launched 3GB RAM variants have the same 16GB of internal storage. Even though the handset ships pre-loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the company has assured Android Oreo within the next few days.

The device runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core SoC, now paired with 3 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB onboard storage with a hybrid SIM slot (two SIM cards or a SIM and an SD card). It also has 8 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. "Now we have added more memory so fans can get enhanced performance in the same precision-engineered design", Ajey Mehta, Vice President India, HMD Global, said in a statement.

This phone is mounted with 13MP auto-focus rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture and 8MP auto focus front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens.

Nokia 5 on the connectivity side, supports Bluetooth 4.1, FM Radio, 2G/3G/4G, Wi-Fi with a certain bunch of sensors including gyro, accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass, and Global Positioning System.
