Israeli military says ready to protect Druze village in Syria

Druze near the Israeli Syrian border

The statement was an unusually explicit Israeli pledge to intervene in the war in Syria, where Israeli officials are voicing deeper alarm at the role of Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah, which are fighting alongside the Syrian government.

Responding to some allegations by Druze that Israel was assisting Tahrir al-Sham, the Israeli military said "the allegations of Israeli involvement and assistance to global jihadi elements in the fighting are groundless".

He stressed that Israel does not want to escalate the situation, but it will not allow the Druze to be targeted or for their village to be occupied.

People of Occupied Syrian Golan took to the streets to protest the Israeli support for the terrorist attack launched by by al-Nusra Front on the town of Hadar in the countryside of Quneitra.

The Nusra Front a year ago changed its name to the Fateh al-Sham Front and stated it had cut ties with al-Qaeda, though most analysts believe the two organizations are still linked.

It says it's ready to act to protect the Druze village of Hader, located on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, after a vehicle bomb killed nine people and injured 23 others there.

Blizzard announced World of Warcraft Classic during its BlizzCon 2017 keynote, which is a " classic " server option for WoW. To start with, players will gain access to 6 new playable sub-races, 3 for each faction.

The SOHR said government troops and allied fighters were among the casualties of Friday's clashes.

Syrian state media accused Israel of giving various kinds of support to the Nusra Front.

The IDF statement reflected ongoing pressure on Israeli leaders from the Druze communities in the Galilee and on the Golan to help their coreligionists across the border who are often caught in the crossfire between Sunni rebels and Alawite and Shiite pro-government forces.

However, according to foreign reports, Israel has financially supported other southern Syria opposition groups in order to ensure forces friendly to Israel control the Syrian side of the northern Golan border.

He warned al-Nusra against coming near the village that lies in the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.

But it has bombed Syrian territory on a sporadic basis, sometimes in response to stray Syrian army fire. In a statement, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that "we are constantly watching our borders, both north and south, in order to ensure security". Such "red lines" include the violation of Israeli sovereignty through deliberate or accidental attacks, Iranian-backed militias taking positions on the Golan border, and attempts to transfer advanced weapons to Hezbollah.
