Jose Mourinho speaks on Nemanja Matic's move to Manchester United

Matic makes his first return to Stamford Bridge this weekend since leaving Chelsea in the summer, with United set to take on Antonio Conte's Blues.

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic says his success at former club Chelsea demonstrates that he has nothing to prove in Sunday's Premier League clash between the two sides.

In a sudden, and shock, move, Matic left the Premier League champions as Manchester United snapped him up for over £35m.

Many were surprised that Matic was allowed to join United with such ease, including his manager Mourinho.

He continued: 'Honestly if I wanted to risk him I could do this against Bournemouth, I could do this against Roma. I have respect for the job, then he's an opponent, I'm an opponent for him, same after the game. "We are talking about an important player", the Italian told a news conference.

Former Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata was part of the United team that lost 4-0 to Antonio Conte's side last season but the Spaniard believes the side's focus is fully on the coming fixture.

'If they continue in this way.I think this is the big problem for all the teams, if they continue in this way, it will be very hard to fight for the title but for sure, we have to try to do our best in every game and I think until now, we deserve to have these points'. "There is a lot of pressure around the game, but obviously we will try to play our best football and try to win and come back to Manchester with three points".

"So when he told me: "You can have him if you want", of course I wanted".

Fourth-placed Chelsea go into the game on the back of a 3-0 loss at Roma in the Champions League in midweek and Conte said his club were "struggling" to deal with their problems.
