Iran will 'shred' nuclear deal if U.S. quits it - Ali Khamenei

Why Trump's stance on Iran could backfire

Trump accuses Iran of supporting terrorism and says the 2015 deal does not do enough to block its path to acquiring nuclear weapons.

"If Iran is compliant, if the European Union and China and Russian Federation continue to consider that the JCPOA can be applied, then that means the USA would have to take unilateral sanctions and we see what the situation is", Pouyanne said in the interview published on Tuesday. "Europe needs to stand against practical measures (taken) by America". "It is now stating that it is against the elimination of the nuclear deal by the US", Rear Admiral Shamkhani added.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei attends a meeting with students in Tehran, Iran, October 18, 2017.

"They are angry as today the Islamic republic of Iran has disrupted their plans in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq", Khamenei said.

Mr. Khamenei also said Iran was determined to continue its disputed ballistic missile program despite the pressure from Europe and the United States to suspend it.

Tehran has repeatedly pledged to continue what it calls a defensive missile capability in defiance of Western criticism.

Polestar 2 will start production later in 2019 and will be the first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) from the Volvo Car Group . To that end the 1 is also the first auto to ever be equipped with Ohlins' new Continuously Controlled Electronic Suspension.

The deal signed in Vienna in 2015 between Iran and six world powers - the U.S., Britain, Russia, France, China, and Germany - saw internationally observed limitations to Iran's nuclear weapons program in return for the lifting of worldwide sanctions.

"They must avoid interfering in our defense program ..." Why do you have missiles yourselves? "We do not think it is acceptable for the Europeans to join America in its bullying". "Why do YOU have nuclear weapons?"

"We welcome such stances, but it is not enough that they only ask the U.S. not to scrap the deal", Ayatollah Khamenei added, noting that the JCPOA is to their benefit.

The Trump administration has imposed new unilateral sanctions targeting Iran's missile activity. "The president of the United States has many powers (but) not this one", the European Union foreign policy chief stressed. If Trump ditched the deal, "Iran will shred it".

"If they ask questions like, 'Why Iran is active in the region?', well, it is none of their business", he said.
