Sharif family moves SC seeking order to club NAB references

Capt Safdar moves IHC to putt off indictment in graft reference

An anti-corruption court on Friday adjourned the indictment of ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Muhammad Safdar in the Panama Papers case till October 19 after it witnessed a raucous protest by PML-N lawyers and supporters.

October 13 was set as the date when Maryam Nawaz and Capt. (Retd) Safdar were to be indicted for the references filed against them.

Nawaz Sharif, in his petition, pled Supreme Court (SC) to halt proceedings of accountability court till judgment is served on constitutional plea and declare verdict to file three references illegal.

"The PML-N has repeated its history of fighting with the court instead of fighting its case." he said, adding, that the ruling party had a history of attacking the courts.

He said in the petition that mandatory seven-day period before indictment was not followed as he appeared before the court on October 9.

Sharif again failed to appear before the judge as he was in London where he is busy looking after his ill wife Kulsoom.

"I will request the Interior Ministry to inquire into the incident", she said.

Paris to Ban Gas-Powered Vehicles a Decade Ahead of Schedule
Although it may seem incredibly hard for North Americans to imagine such a ban, many Parisians do not own a auto . Paris city officials have announced plans to ban all gas and diesel vehicles from the city by 2030.

TV footages showed that Maryam and Safdar were present inside the court when lawyers created ruckus.

The lawyers also argued with the deputy attorney general and created a commotion, forcing Judge Mohammad Bashir to leave for his chamber and abort today's proceedings.

Sharif and his sons - Hussain and Hassan - have been named in three NAB references, while Maryam and her husband have been named only in a reference related to the family's London flats.

During the hearing on October 9, the court had chose to separate the trial of Sharif's sons - Hussain and Hassan - from Sharif, his daughter and son-in-law.

The anti-graft body NAB had frozen the bank accounts and seized properties of Sharif and his family members to put pressure on them to appear before the court.

He alleged that Nawaz Sharif was pushing the country towards anarchy by disrespecting the judiciary. She was accompanied by ministers, and senior PML-N leaders.
