Google Assistant can now control your Chromecast from your phone

Google Assistant on your phone got a lot more useful with controls for Chromecast now live from your phone

Google made an impressive calendar widget for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, but it's not exactly widely available. With that Google also said that users of both these smartphones will get unlimited photo/video uploads in original quality, but, only till January 15, 2021.

Sadly, there has been no indication that this feature will come to any Android phones other than the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, but it turns out that you can replicate the feature on any phone, including an iPhone, with a free app. Pixel users enjoy unlimited cloud storage for their photos in the original format, but with the new Pixel 2, it was confirmed that the unlimited* storage will end in 2020.

While the Pixel 2 might not be the sleekest or most powerful Android phone on the market when it launches later this month, Google always saves a few surprises for its own phones.

Google has also included a very convenient add-on in the new app which is called the 'exposure auto focus lock'. First, it is the official battery management app from Google. Anyway, this is a really handy trick, as it narrows the differences of what you can do with Google Assistant on different devices. There is also a slightly different animation when expanding folders. If you already have the Pixel Launcher installed, this should install on top of it.

Senator Susan Collins Won't Run for Governor of Maine
If the Senator had made a decision to run, and won, she would have been Maine's first female Governor. Collins plans to reveal her decision at a meeting of local business leaders in the city of Rockland.

That means Google Pixel owners should still be able to take advantage of free photo storage in Google's cloud for their entire lives - assuming they keep hold of the phone.

This is a feature that's been available on Google Home since day one, and it's something that I find myself regularly using.

The prime reason behind this change was company's intent to maintain a sync across its mobile software portfolio.
