Iceland Qualified For The FIFA World Cup With A Thunderous Viking Clap

Iceland Qualifies For World Cup!

Iceland has a population of about 335,000 while the previous smallest country to have reached a World Cup was Trinidad & Tobago, in 2006, which had 1.3 million people.

And they made no mistake as Gylfi Sigurdsson and Johann Berg Gudmundsson fired home the goals on a famous night for the Icelandic national team.

Iceland got through to the quarter-final stage before their fairytale run was ended by hosts and beaten finalists France 5-2. The team earned ticket to the World Cup with 22 points.

Iceland has successfully qualified for Football World Cup 2018, a great achievement, which was celebrated throughout the country.

Striker Andrej Kramaric struck two superb second-half goals to grab second spot in Group I for Croatia and a place in the playoffs, as they beat Ukraine 2-0 in their final qualifier in Kiev.

Prijovic struck the victor on 74 minutes in Belgrade as Serbia finished top of European qualifying Group D, with the Republic of Ireland heading to the play-offs after a 1-0 victory over Wales in Cardiff.

Raiders QB Derek Carr listed as questionable for Sunday
Lynch hasn't done much - 45 carries, 151 yards and a touchdown - and he has yet to carry the football at least 20 times in a game. Despite his efforts, it appears Carr will not be the man under center for the Raiders vs.

Their national team finally qualified for their first ever major global tournament at Euro 2016 and won hearts and minds along the way.

Serbia also ended an eight-year major tournament drought by booking a place in Russian Federation after Aleksandar Prijovic scored after coming on as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 win over Georgia.

Now, the World Cup in Russian Federation will also be graced by the popular northern Europeans and their colourful fans who started a clapping trend at the Euros that is sure to make its mark next year.

With Serbia winning 1-0 over Georgia to top Group D, the showdown in Cardiff was for the prize of a playoff berth in November.

Inter midfielder Antonio Candreva scored the only goal of the game and Giampiero Ventura's men will be seeded in the draw for the play-offs, which is set to take place on 17 October.

There were also 1-0 wins for Spain over Israel (Asier Illarramendi, 76th) and Italy over Albania (Antonio Candreva, 73rd).
