Rand Paul: Supports Pre-Obamacare Levels in Block Grants

Alex Brandon | AP | BDN

"Rand Paul, or whoever votes against Hcare Bill, will forever (future political campaigns) be known as "the Republican who saved ObamaCare", Trump tweeted".

According to analysis by the non-partisan Brookings Institution, if the Graham-Cassidy bill were to pass, 32 million fewer Americans would have health insurance by 2027. It also would take money earmarked for the law's Medicaid expansion and return it to states in the form of block grants.

Trump appears to be on an offensive aimed at getting Paul on board with the bill, whom he has generally had a cordial rapport with, while Senate leadership is focusing on winning over Trump critics Collins and Murkowski. Susan Collins, R-Maine, has cited concerns including the measure's Medicaid cuts and seems a likely no, while noncommittal senators include Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Arizona's John McCain.

A spokeswoman for Murkowski, Karina Petersen, said Saturday: "Senator Murkowski has seen the president's tweet but is still analysing the bill and waiting to hear from CBO to determine its potential impacts for Alaskans".

Senator Rand Paul has criticized the bill from the opposite standpoint, arguing that it doesn't go far enough. John McCain's announcement on Friday that he will not support the Graham-Cassidy bill has put the fate of the GOP's efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare into doubt. He said the GOP bill left too much of that spending intact and simply gave states more control over it.

"So yes, we're moving forward and we'll see what happens next week".

Under Graham-Cassidy's language, a state must show how it "intends to maintain access to adequate and affordable health insurance coverage for individuals with pre-existing conditions" if it requests a waiver.

Mourinho happy with 'professional performance' over Burton
Even this term, he's opted to rotate him with Marcus Rashford , which is a problem most managers can only dream of. People say you have to play Rashford as a centre-forward but you can play him anywhere because he is good enough.

Senator Lindsey Graham, who is leading the charge on the latest version of Obamacare repeal, told ABC: "The only way you know how people will vote is you have the vote", adding, "I think we're going to get the votes".

In July, McCain was the key vote that killed the last GOP effort to dump Obamacare, flashing a dramatic thumbs down on the Senate floor in the waning minutes of the vote.

The legislation was introduced by Republican Sens.

With Senate Democrats unanimously opposed, two is the exact number of GOP votes that the bill can afford to lose. "I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried".

Over time, the legislation would significantly reduce federal health care dollars now flowing to the states.

But with the bill he has sponsored, the so-called Graham-Cassidy health care bill, Kimmel feels Cassidy may have lied to his face. John McCain, R-Ariz., opposes the latest iteration of "repeal and replace" comes as the opportunity to dodge a Democratic filibuster is running out. "We already have a problem under the Affordable Care act with the cost of premiums and deductibles, and finally, I'm very concerned about the erosion of protections for people with pre-existing conditions". But the budget office said that it would take at least several weeks to provide an analysis of the bill's effects on health insurance coverage and premiums.
