Arsenal vs West Brom

Wenger no longer interested Premier League winner

WEST BROM midfielder Gareth Barry has revealed Arsenal tried to sign him twice as he prepares to break the Premier League appearance record at the Emirates Stadium.

Barry started his career as a 17-year-old when he replaced Ian Taylor as a second-half substitute at Hillsborough as Aston Villa won 3-1 at Sheffield Wednesday.

It is a testament to his longevity, adaptability and quality that he has lasted so long in the fast-paced, blood-and-thunder world of English soccer. I was 32 when I signed for Everton and Roberto Martinez said, "Your style of game - you can play until you're 40".

ARSENAL could welcome back Mesut Ozil but it will be a game-time decision on whether to risk the German worldwide.

He is unlikely to be involved when Arsenal take on West Brom on Monday, but could return for the trip to Belarus to take on Bate Borisov in the Europa League on Thursday.

'Get out!' Julia Louis-Dreyfus wins record 6th consecutive Emmy for 'Veep'
She thanked her "boyfriend" Brad Hall (C80), and her sons, and called her stint as Meyer "the role of a lifetime... utter joy". She's 56", while another added: " Julia Louis-Dreyfus's insane streak would be infuriating if she didn't 1000% deserve it.

Asked if his disciplinary problems are more to do with his position as a holding midfielder, Barry added: "Yes, that will be it".

While at Manchester City, Barry played 132 games and made a further 131 appearances across his two spells at Everton. "Everyone said: 'Play as long as possible.' You stop when you stop enjoying it, and I'll know when I've had enough and can't keep up with the boys". He's not the flashiest player in the Premier League but would've provided some much-needed stability to a midfield which featured Denilson and Alex Song.

Tony Pulis' side beat Arsene Wenger's men last time they met so will be confident of causing another upset.

"It will unusual to see him in a different shirt because he is a player who has been educated here from a very young age", Wenger told his club's official website. It might be harder, a tougher challenge, but I didn't want to slowly go down that road of fizzling out'. Rarely is he going to let you down.
