6th Grader Dragged From Class For Not Standing During Pledge Of Allegiance

East Middle School

In wake of former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's national anthem protest movement, a Farmington Hills, Michigan sixth-grade student was allegedly dragged forcefully out of his seat after refusing to stand for the pledge of allegiance on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Stone Chaney, a sixth grader, had just started his first week of school and now his family isn't sure if he'll go back, according to WDIV.

Stone Chaney had just started his first week of sixth grade, according to WDIV, when, on September 7, the teacher laid hands on him.

He said another teacher the next day yelled at him to stand up.

"I don't stand for the pledge because I don't pledge to a flag". Chaney explained "I don't stand because I don't pledge to a flag".

Stone says he feels like his rights have been violated, and fears having to return to the school to suffer more punishment. She also told him he would need a special note to be allowed to sit.

Vote fraud claims again fall flat
The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity has spurred controversy since it was established in May. Kobach also said it's possible the commission will make no recommendations and just tell states "here's the data".

"At Farmington Public Schools, we expect every child and adult in our district to be treated with dignity and respect". "I'm going to say we're quite disappointed", he told board members, standing with his four sons.

In a statement to the Washington Post, Farmington Public Schools Superintendent George Heitsch said that "leaders have opened an investigation into the incident". He said students have the right to skip the Pledge of Allegiance.

Following this, the student's father Brian Chaney publicly announced on his Facebook page, he was "verbally assaulted the next day". "I have to make a stance for this", Chaney said. He's not anxious about what other people think of him'.

Chaney said he'd prefer to keep his son, who he said is a 4.0 student, in the Farmington district, because "we've had a wonderful relationship".

Phillina Mullin, Stone's mother, said the educator should not have touched Stone. Brian Chaney praised his son's ability to walk to his "own beat". They said it's likely they're going to pull Stone from the district.

According to the 12-year-old, he was sitting during the pledge as he has done without incident since he was in the second grade.
