GOP rep: Congress should set limits for Mueller probe in appropriations bills

Mueller teams up with New York attorney general in Manafort probe

The current target is former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, and the man Mueller has most recently enlisted to assist with the inquiries is sure to raise a few eyebrows: New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

The Politico news outlet, which spoke to several people familiar with the issue, said Wednesday the two investigators shared evidence on Manafort's suspected financial crimes and discussed a potential case in recent weeks. It also could potentially provide Mueller with additional leverage to get Manafort to cooperate in the larger investigation into Trump's campaign, as Trump does not have pardon power over state crimes. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) expressed concern that Mueller's probe is venturing into territory unrelated to Moscow's efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election and called on Congress to set a scope and duration for how the investigation proceeds.

According to reports, the U.S. President, who recently pardoned Arizona's controversial ex-Sheriff Joe Arpaio - an early Trump supporter who had been convicted of criminal contempt related to his crackdown on illegal immigration - does not have pardon power involving state crimes.

Manafort's Virginia apartment was raided by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation last month.

Multiple reports previously have said that Manafort is being investigated for possible money laundering and investigators are looking at his lobbying work and business transactions, including real estate deals.

All of the details of the 2017 Victoria's Secret Show
In a post on Instagram on Monday, Hadid announced she will be making an appearance at the Victoria's Secret 2017 show. Last year's musical lineup included Lady Gaga , Bruno Mars and The Weeknd .

There has been no decision on charges, however, and "nothing is imminent", a source told Politico.

Manafort has not been levied any charges to date, and has denied any wrongdoing.

Schneiderman's office also has been going through some of Trump's business transactions. Trump denies any collusion by his campaign, while regularly denouncing the investigations as political witch hunts.

While the developments this week have led to increasing speculation that Donald Trump could ultimately face impeachment, there is still no evidence connecting Trump to any of the allegations of collusion with Russian interests.
