Sir Terry's work crushed by steam-roller

Terry Pratchett best known for his colourful and satirical Discworld series died in 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease

As per his wishes, his remaining unfinished novels, left on a hard-drive, were steamrolled by a vintage John Fowler & Co steamroller named Lord Jericho.

According to the novelist's close friend Neil Gaiman, it was Pratchett's idea to destroy everything he was working on before his death in such an unusual way.

On Friday, Pratchett got his wish, as Wilkins, who now manages Pratchett's estate, carried out the author's request by letting a steamroller smush his hard drive at the Great Dorset Steam Fair.

Pratchett's fans vividly discussed the move on Twitter and other social networks.

Sir Terry was the mastermind behind the Discworld series, and wrote 70 books during his illustrious career.

Trump said in a speech in Arizona last week that if Congress doesn't include money for the wall, he'll shut down the government . And amid all these these potentially contentious budget conversations is Trump's push for a wall between the US and Mexico.

Pratchett had struggled with early-onset Alzheimer's disease for almost a decade before his death.

Just over half an hour later, another photograph was uploaded, the device having been smashed and the caption reading: "There goes the browsing history..."

The steamroller's name is Lord Jericho.

"It was one of his requests that his unfinished work was destroyed by a steamroller", Richard Henry, curator of the Salisbury Museum said to CNN. A hard drive seems like an appropriate resting place for Pratchett's unfinished work, given the author's interest in technology and computers. A final Discworld novel, The Shepherd's Crown, was released in 2015.

The remnants of the hard drive will be displayed at an exhibition dedicated to Pratchett's life, which will run from September 16, 2017 to January 13, 2018.
