Allo For Web Is Officially Launched

Google Allo

For now, Google Allo on the web is only available to those using Android devices and on the Chrome web browser. For now, only Android devices can be used to pair with Allo on the browser, but Google says that iOS support for this feature is coming soon as well. As you may have already guessed, this is the web version Google Allo. If the app isn't running on your phone or your phone isn't connected to the internet, you can't use Allo through the web app.

Moreover, the app won't work on a mobile browser which makes it safer and secure.

Google Allo can now be accessed through your web browser.

While the launch of the app for desktop was expected around May, there was not much clarity on the official launch date. Amit Fulay, Allo's head of product, later said in July that the web version would launch in a "few more weeks". However, the web client works just fine with v15 too.

Once you've installed Allo v16 on your smartphone, follow the banner below, click on the hamburger menu in the app, and select the "Allo for web" option in order to scan the QR code the service presents you with. The web version retains nearly all the functions including smart replies, sticker, emoji and most importantly, the Google Assistant.

BBCI: Iran votes to boost military defence by $500m
Iranian MPs shouted "death to America" after Speaker Ali Larijani announced the result of the vote. Of the members present, 240 parliamentarians out of 244 voted in favour of passing the bill.

It should be noted that this is not a standalone web portal for the Allow messaging service (like we saw with Hangouts). By doing this, Allo opens a viewfinder on the device, asking you to navigate to the web on your computer.

Scan the QR code that's visible on Allo for web.

To recall, Google Allo was unveiled for the first time at the company's I/O developer conference held previous year, alongside "Duo".

Do you use Allo? But at some point, Google made a decision to integrate the services of Duo into Allo. So, if your phone runs out of battery or if you exit the mobile app, Google Allo for web won't work.
