A newborn baby girl was found abandoned at a suburban Houston apartment complex.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to The Bridges of Cypress Creek apartment complex on Red Oak Drive early Thursday morning.

"I heard some crying and wining and crying, and I kept walking until I got closer to the noise, and then I look at the ground and there was a baby down there", Albert Peterson, the man who found the baby, told KHOU in Houston.

When the man realized the baby was alive, he took the baby home and called police.

As reported by ABC News, John Baldwin was also leaving for work at the same time as Peterson when the baby was found and recorded the incident on his phone.

The unnamed mother is now in the custody of sheriffs and the local district attorney is now considering charges against her. "I picked her up, cleaned her off, put her in a sheet and took her in my house", Peterson said. The baby was taken to Texas Children's Hospital in The Woodlands for treatment.

Computer hardware stocks rebounded following recent weakness, with the NYSE Arca Computer Hardware Index climbing by 1.4 percent. Six of the 11 major S&P sectors were higher, with the technology's .SPLRCT 0.36 percent rise leading the advancers.

"I picked the baby up, and the baby had mucus and blood and all kinds of stuff all over her body".

"Without this neighbor, we'd be looking at a whole different scene, probably a homicide", Gilliland said. The woman did admit to authorities she left the baby alone outside. "You see her footprints on the ground". In court, graphic evidence was presented as investigators said the umbilical cord was ripped, not cut out, causing the baby to have a bacterial infection. When deputies knocked on the door, the residents at first refused to answer, investigators said.

The newborn will remain in the hospital's custody until custody proceedings are finished, Child Protective Services on Friday.

Texas law does allow a person to legally give up a child.

Skillern reportedly took a DNA test to verify whether he's the baby's father.
