Boy Scouts dead, 1 injured in East Texas boat crash

Two Boy Scouts Killed on East Texas Lake

Two Texas Boy Scouts, aged 16 and 18, were killed and another was hospitalized after their sailboat collided with an overhead power line, likely sending a jolt of electricity through the boat, Texas officials said on Sunday. Local media have identified them as Will Brannon, 17; Heath Faucheux, 16; and Thomas Larry, 11. They drove Thomas to the marina, where he was airlifted in critical condition to a hospital just across the state line to Shreveport, La. All three of the Boy Scout Troop 620 members were wearing life jackets when the boating accident occurred. "So, they are going to live on forever".

"This is an extremely hard time for our Scouting family".

The Boy Scouts were boating on Lake O' The Pines near Avinger, Texas over the weekend when tragedy struck.

The names of the boys were not immediately released.

"You're talking about great young men, men of integrity", Hallsville Band Director Sherri Morgan said at the candlelight vigil, when thanking the community for their prayers on behalf of the families of the Boy Scouts.

"He's a little comedian", Weatherford said. "He's such a cool kid".

A gofundme account has been set up to help the family with expenses.
