Adjusted earnings per share for the entire company rose to $1.67, which topped the Wall Street consensus forecast of $1.57 a share.
It was seen as particularly impressive given the fact its new iPhone 8 and 7S models are expected to be released in September, despite doubts that weak availability of key chips could hit the launch.
Apple sold more than 41 million iPhone handsets in the last quarter, as well as 11.4 million iPad units.
As a result, Apple saw quarterly revenue rise from $42.4 billion to $45.4 billion, year-over-year, and earnings per diluted share increase from $1.42 to $1.67.
