WhatsApp reaches 1 billion daily active users

WhatsApp Growth Year To Year is Mind boggling

Last year, the messaging app had released data suggesting that 1 billion people used WhatsApp monthly. When WhatsApp rolled out the status feature, several users complained about the feature, and some event mocked Facebook for lifting the features from Snapchat.

According to the company, WhatsApp now services over 1.3 billion active monthly users and its servers see 55 billion messages sent every day in 60 languages. Furthermore, 4.5 Billion photos shares per day and video sharing have been bumped up to 1 billion. The announcement comes as part of Facebook's Q2 2017 results, which revealed how the company's mobile ads are increasing.

Facebook last month said it had reached 2 billion monthly users, and yesterday noted that as of June it had 1.32 billion daily users.

But WhatsApp's actual monetisation potential was yet to be realised by the company.

Volkswagen pleads guilty to diesel cheating, as if it had a choice
US prosecutors have gathered more than 4.3 million documents covering more than 40 million pages in the ongoing probe. His lawyers disclosed the plan during a brief conference with a judge, spokesman David Ashenfelter said.

WhatsApp has seen a rapid increase in Status users, with Facebook disclosing 175 million DAUs during its Q1 call back in May.

WhatsApp rolled out the Snapchat like status feature a few months ago and even added a status tab only next to the home tab. Based on the stellar growth of WhatsApp, he got a bargain. All these users are actively exchanging about 55 billion messages per day, which is yet another huge number. As we celebrate this milestone, we're committed more than ever to bringing you more useful features to enjoy, while delivering the reliability, simplicity, and security you expect with WhatsApp.

"WhatsApp has demonstrated significant engagement with crossing a billion daily actives".
